These labels are bullshit. It doesn't make sense to call someone a liberal. They are relative adjectives. If You are conservative about spending money than you are liberal about saving money. I know this is merely a matter of semantics, but that doesn't negate my point.
Besides, even without being relativistic, the terms don't make sense. Republicans might be conservative in their definition of marriage, but they're definitely not conservative when it comes to the environment.
Also, neither political party is actually conservative or liberal about the things they are supposed to be. Democrats socially liberal? Hardly. Republicans fiscally conservative? Nice try.
So, I say we abandon these characterizations. And, if there are any Republicans reading this here's the deal: Don't call me liberal and I won't call you one.
